I will always love you my friend…a pub with tales to tell, a pub with taxidermy, a pub with lodges beyond your wildest dreams, this my pretties is a crazy cool quirky pub wedding venue

Just imagine – you and your partner, hand in hand, walking along the table in the stable, as your nearest and dearest gather round to toast you. The Bell is no ordinary wedding venue in fact it’s a gloriously cool and quirky East Sussex quirky pub wedding venue! They like to be a bit different, they like to use their quirky imaginations and they like to pull out all the stops. If that sounds as though it might be right up your aisle, read on…

Don’t expect to leave thinking, ‘that was average’, you WILL be blown away. Surrounded by glorious countryside in the pretty village of Ticehurst, this quaint red-brick building conceals an exuberant, cool, quirky pub wedding venue that achieves what it sets out to do, be totally different to the rest.

This little gem of a pub has had some major refurbishment including a shed load of quirky style (check out the trombone urinals in the gents!).

At this quirky pub wedding venue there’s a story to tell,  in each of the seven bedrooms, all with a silver birch tree growing out of the floor – but that’s another story! Indulgent roll-top baths are a stunning addition to the sizeable, once-seen-never-forgotten space. BUT these rooms, as beautiful as they are, are inside, what’s outside? 4 of the most extraordinary lodges you will ever come across built around a central wood burning pit.

There are two main areas for your wedding, ‘The Assembly Room’ and ‘The Stable with A Table’ which sits in a pit where the carriages would have been drawn into. You really can stay in a love nest (complete with eggs) and find your own piece of heaven after an extraordinary wedding in this most unusual of East Sussex Wedding Venues.

Say what?

Just back from a wedding celebration at The Bell ,Ticehurst. And weren’t we well looked after. There’s something to delight the eye, stimulate the mind and make me smile, around every corner. It was something akin to theatre, beautifully orchestrated, with Johnny, the maitre d’, guiding his excellent staff in making the occasion relaxed and fun.

The little maxims beautifully painted on the walls, and endless little quirkinesses to delight. Outside, I had a peek into the round “love nest”, with its thatch of hazel staves, and there were cedar-clad cabins as well. The place is a work of art, and the service and welcome that we received matched it in character. Oh, and the venison was just as venison should be. Guest

Why did I love it? The venue was original, quirky and fun; I get so board of the same thing all the time, this venue has explored the possibilities of being different whilst remaining cool. Well Done! Guest
