A slice of Somerset countryside, a spring fed swimming pool & a view of the Glastonbury festival site. If you’re after grand yet rustic? Somerset wedding venues don’t get better than this.
If you have been searching for Somerset Wedding Venues that will blow your quirky socks off then you need look no more my friend. Pennard House is a quirky mix of traditional English Manor house and a unique party venue. A large family home surrounded by meadows, woodlands and cider orchards deep in the Somerset countryside, Pennard is set in 4 acres of magical gardens complete with rose gardens and a spring fed Victorian swimming pool.
Civil ceremonies can be held either in the grand licensed room in the house complete with antique mirrors and chandeliers, or in the garden pavilion next to the croquet lawn. Alternatively, church weddings take place in the picturesque village church at the bottom of the south facing lawns.
Drinks and canapés are then served on the terrace of the house, while guests roam the garden to the sound of acoustic music. The gardens provide the perfect setting for a unique drinks reception, and endless photo opportunities in the secret haunts and hideaways.
The wedding celebration then takes a truly quirky twist as the party moves on to the Coach House, a beautiful 18c stable and coach building converted to a modern event venue. The Coach House is beautifully finished with original features and neutral colours, providing a blank canvas for the bride and groom to decorate. There is a large, open dining area which provides an ideal venue for guests to sit and dine in comfort, and a separate bar, dance floor and individual seating areas within the original stable booths.
For accommodation, each couple has complimentary use of the beautiful Orchard Room bridal suite in Pennard House, so that the bride has somewhere to get ready and the couple have somewhere nearby to sleep. The stunning room has a large double bed, chandeliers and a roll top bath with views of the gardens, and further B&B accommodation is offered for guests in grand and thoughtfully decorated bedrooms. In the summer, further guests can stay in handmade 16ft tipis in the gardens.
If you are festival goers you’ll love the fact that this place has a view over the Glastonbury Festival site. As far as festival themed Somerset Wedding Venues go I reckon this one’s a winner.

“We would like to thank you for providing the most wonderful setting for the wedding: the house, the terrace, the lawns, the lake, the ceremony room and the Coach house. Perfect Pennard for a wonderful wedding! People have told us it was the best wedding they have ever been to!”

“We wanted to email with a belated thank you for all your help with our big day last month, we had such a fantastic day and it really could not have gone better for us. You were great from start to finish and we had the gentle, rural, family wedding we always wanted. It honestly felt like we had the venue to ourselves and everything was so beautifully presented. Everyone commented on how fantastic the venue was and we only wish we could do it all over again!”

“We had the best day ever, still can’t get over how brilliant it all was! Pennard House was just perfect, our guests couldn’t believe we had found such a setting! And the weather made it all the better. Thanks ever so much for being so relax and helpful throughout, and letting us make the coach house ours for the day. It really came together better then we could imagine! We received so many compliments on the food! The guests thought it was all amazing, particular favourites were the Mozzarella Risotto balls and mini sausages! One guest even said the wedding breakfast was her all time favourite meal, ever! So thank you and your team for all the hard work that went in to it!”
