Royal Victoria Park

South West, The Temple of Minerva, The Botanical Gardens, Royal Avenue, Bath

Enquire Now

Royal Victoria Park was opened in 1830 by Queen Victoria herself, she was aged 11. Boasting two sites to choose for your ceremony. A Romanesque Temple or a Bandstand overlooking one of the most celebrated views in Bath – not too many of those around. A Historic Bath Wedding Venue indeed!

In 1830 11 year old Princess Victoria opened Royal Victoria Park, it was the first park to carry her name, originally an arboretum. If she visited today she would undoubtedly take a trip to the botanical gardens at the North end of the Park.  She would take in the tranquil and sweet-smelling grounds oozing with one of the finest examples of a flora and fauna in the region. She’d wander down the colourful herbaceous borders to see the WI bath tub bedding and perhaps find a secluded nook or cranny. A perfect hiding place for stealing a romantic moment with her beloved Albert.

Nowadays, she’d be pursued by the paparazzi, as there are SO many totally unique and seriously special photo opportunities from tree carvings standing tall like totem poles to the Great Dell, a little haven away from it all. No doubt HRH would take refuge in the glorious Temple of Minerva, enjoy a drink or perhaps take high tea on the lawns originally built as an example of Bath architecture for the British Empire Exhibition in 1924 and then reconstructed in the Gardens.

The team at this historic Bath wedding venue are as flexible as you can get, charged by the hour, no corkage, BYO caterers and any other suppliers you want. They even have their own florist and nursery and they can grow your wedding flowers, you can even visit to see them growing. Just a short walk from the city centre, this beautiful 23 hectare/57 acre site is a favourite for locals and visitors alike.
