Explosions traces the development of naval armaments from gunpowder to the Exocet missile…but the museum is not just about big bangs. It can offer you somewhere truly one-off for your wedding.

If you’re looking for unique Hampshire wedding venues then you’ve landed on your feet. Explosion Museum can provide you with a wonderfully unique venue for your special day. An 18th Century Grand Magazine, a Gunpowder Store built in 1771, is such a unique setting for both the ceremony and reception. With a beautiful vaulted ceiling and Georgian wooden floor, it is the ideal space for a truly, quirky wedding.

In addition, make use of the incredible camber basin for reception drinks and photographs, with breathtaking views of the waterfront across to Port Solent and the Naval Dockyard. Also, explore the museum galleries in the evening to learn just how special and important Priddy’s Hard was to those who lived and worked on the site.

Wedding ceremonies and civil partnerships can take place between 8am and 6pm and non-religious music of your choice can be played. Services are conducted by Registry Office officials, usually booked from the local Fareham office.

The Museum can also help to arrange a Bucks Fizz or Champagne Reception, also, during this time the Museum galleries and grounds can be used for photography. Unique Hampshire wedding venues don’t get more ‘banging’ than this, eeeek, terrible pun!
